CommonGenius Community Guidelines
CommonGenius is an environment of learning and growth. Thus, we ask our community to abide by central values and behaviors, outlined in our community guidelines. By using CommonGenius, you agree to these guidelines. We're absolutely committed to them and expect that you will be as well. Disobeying these rules can result in disabled accounts, loss of all perks, or other restrictions. Help us to create an inspirational and empowering space by abiding by these standards.
All those who utilize the platform are expected to be respectful, and open to others opinions and points of view, as well as embracing of different backgrounds, countries of origin, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, etc. The more diverse our community the richer our fountain of learning. Any use of slurs, disrespectful behavior, hate speech, or sexual harassment will result in immediate removal from the platform.
It is important that experts and members communicate with each other in a timely way in order to ensure the best experience. It is absolutely critical that any cancellations or adjustments are made well in advance, in order to respect people’s busy schedules. Also, being communicative about what a member is expecting from an expert and vice versa, and setting expectations up transparently, are key to having a great experience.

Part of creating a safe space is utilizing the platform for its intended purpose- to learn and grow. CommonGenius has experts and executives from major businesses. Our community’s goal is to help people from all walks of life overcome their career and business challenges. Solicitation of experts violates the trust necessary to foster relationships and for the community to thrive. CommonGenius has experts from the angel and venture capital communities; however, soliciting investments from these individuals is not the mission of the platform. Feel free to ask them for advice on your business and funding strategy, but please do not ask our experts for financial investments. If a member is reported for soliciting experts for business or financial investments, they will be banned from the platform.
Confidentiality + Trust
Anything said within a 1:1 is strictly confidential. An expert may share an experience with a certain company in the past- this is information that they expect a member to keep private. A member may share negative experiences at a job or with a certain boss, for example. This is also expected to be held confidential. Building successful relationships hinges on trust, and trust is dependent on confidentiality.
